Terms of use & purchases

What you can do with PocketClip for free, what PREMIUM adds, and how buying and restoring work.

Last updated: 16 October 2026

Who offers PocketClip

PocketClip is offered by JNSI Media UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Im Prüfling 56, 60389 Frankfurt am Main, Germany, under the name jnsimedia. Full details are in the legal notice.

Free use

You can download PocketClip and compress videos for free, as often as you like. The free version shows no advertising and adds no watermark, and you don’t need an account or a subscription.

PREMIUM

PREMIUM is a one-time in-app purchase. It is not a subscription and does not renew. Once bought, it unlocks:

  • exporting videos with cuts,
  • exporting canvas layouts, including backgrounds, pictures, timed texts and burned-in subtitles,
  • saving subtitles as SRT files,
  • saving and using personal presets,
  • alternative app icons.

Without PREMIUM you can try Cut, Canvas and Subtitles in the preview. The price, including any taxes, is shown in the App Store or on Google Play before you buy and may differ between countries and stores.

Buying through Apple or Google

PREMIUM is bought in the app through the App Store or Google Play. Payment and billing are handled by Apple or Google under their terms. Refunds follow the rules of the store you bought from: for the App Store, use Apple’s Report a Problem page; for Google Play, see Google Play’s refund policies or email us.

Restoring PREMIUM

If you reinstall PocketClip or use a new device, tap “Restore purchases” in the app’s settings or on the PREMIUM screen. Your device must be signed in to the same Apple or Google account you used to buy PREMIUM and must be online while restoring.

Purchases in the App Store and on Google Play are separate: PREMIUM bought on Apple devices does not carry over to Android, and the other way round.

What depends on your device

  • Which codecs you can use depends on your device’s encoders. AV1 is available only on Android devices with a suitable encoder, not on iPhone and iPad.
  • The target size is an estimate. The finished file can be slightly smaller or larger.
  • HDR videos are kept as HDR only in some cases and are otherwise converted to standard dynamic range (SDR).
  • How long an export takes depends on your device and on the length and resolution of the video. Exports need enough free storage.
  • On iPhone and iPad the system may limit how long an export continues while PocketClip is in the background.
  • Some video files may not be supported. PocketClip then shows a message instead of exporting.

Your content

You decide which videos, pictures and texts you edit and share. Please only use content you have the rights to, and respect the rights of the people shown in it.

Licence terms

For PocketClip from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies. For PocketClip from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service apply to downloading and buying.

Your statutory rights

Your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights if the app or PREMIUM does not work as described, remain unaffected.
